Student Clubs

There are three main events of the year celebrated by IITH student community: Elan & nVision, Milan, and Diesta. Elan & nVision is the flagship event where students from colleges across the nation participate in the campus events. While Milan is an inter-hostel competition, Diesta is interdepartmental. These events not only bring people together but also provide ample opportunities for students to showcase their talents and skills.


SciTech Club and Cultural & Literary Club are major club groups consisting of several other clubs. Apart from their regular activities, they prepare students to participate in the annual Inter IIT Tech Meet and Inter IIT Cultural Meet competitions.


All student activities (except for a few clubs/cells and other than sports) are headed by Faculty-in-Charge of Student Activities (fic.sa@iith.ac.in).




Sports

Responsive Image

All students, faculty, and staff have access to the sports facilities, though institute teams are given priority during designated practice hours. Qualified coaches are available for training in various sports, and the institute actively fosters a sporting culture by organizing intra-mural tournaments and inter-collegiate events on a regular basis. Inter IIT Sports Meet is a major annual event for which both students and staff prepare and practice. Following sports facilities are availale at SnCC:

SPIC MACAY IIT Hyderabad Chapter

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political youth movement founded by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi. Its mission is to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness of Indian cultural heritage among young people through the promotion of classical music, dance, folk arts, yoga, meditation, crafts, and other traditional cultural forms. SPIC MACAY organizes programs like lecture-demonstrations, workshops, performances, heritage walks, and conventions in educational institutions across India and abroad, providing students direct exposure to prominent artists and maestros, thereby fostering appreciation and understanding of India's diverse cultural legacy.


IIT Hyderabad chapter of SPIC MACAY is run by a Faculty-in-Charge SPIC MACAY (fic.spicmacay@iith.ac.in) with the help of many enthusiastic and dedicated student volunteers.
